I liked Blogging better when it was called Live Journal

Well. I must say for someone who necessarily isn't against the new hip thing, it certainly took me awhile to do this. It's easy for someone to instantly feel disdain for something that catches on so fast and strong. It's even easier to be the early follower. I have a friend who is quick to put down the majority critique of something before he even tries it. That's not a way to form opinions of things. Never let anyone sway what you think, opinions are one of the few things people can't buy off you. But never form a point of view without the viewing.

Blogs to me, are too numerous. Anyone can have one, and as right they should. However when everyone does something ad infinitum it just falls on deaf ears, or eyes. It becomes less special and more mundane. Most won't be read. The ones without a point won't be. Like this one.

So Why do it?

The same reason people post videos on youtube, or post comments to an online editorial. The hope that someone will find it and keep it with them somehow. That it'll have meaning to them. Thats all most people want, to have an effect on others. It's becoming less and less likely the 2% of any of us will do anything great and change the world or how people think. What is realistic and attainable is having a small effect on a few people. To say or present something to people that they take to heart and share with others. Be it a personal theory, a anticdote or hell, a recipe.

So I'm going to write one. In hopes someone will find something of use to them. In hopes that it'll entertain those of you sitting at a computer with nothing to do. It'll be funny, it'll be truthful, it'll be thoughts feelings observations and lamentations. It'll be me.
